Sentinel Combatives: Preparing for the Fall of 2024
Team,
As we continue to march through 2024 and start to switch our focus to 2025, it is becoming clearer that this next year could pose some significant challenges. When looking at low-intensity conflict from a historical perspective, there are inflection points that have led to security challenges. We saw this with 2020 Floyd’s Rebellion and are starting to see a sputtering start with the Pro Hamas crew. In my opinion, the current rise of global conflict with a pending financial crisis could make this crisis a bit different. It is imperative that you start to take meaningful steps to ensure the safety of you and your family.
What does this mean for you and your family?
Quite frankly, you need to be prepared to survive and maneuver within a contested environment. We are fortunate to live where we do, but if the supply chain becomes disrupted, chaos will have no borders. At the beginning of last year, I shared K’s, from Combat Studies Group, how to Become More Dangerous blog post as a guide for you to formulate your own personal action plan for the year. The focus should always be on skills versus gear, but there is an expectation that you have what is needed for your family’s safety.
Acquiring skills is of vital importance, and your families rely upon you to be the calm within a chaotic environment. Yes, it can be expensive, but would you rather have the skills and not need them or wish you had them when you need them? That is a personal decision that only you can make.
In May, the Mountain Readiness Expo returned in Harmony, NC. Several of us attended it over the past two years, and we all came away with a ton of knowledge. Check out who the instructors are for this year, and you will notice some heavy hitters within our readiness community.
Krav Maga Program Update
We have been at it for several months with our Krav Maga program. We are making some changes going forward that will bring the price point down quite a bit. We are incorporating Krav Maga with the principles of Urban Combatives, Kali, and Libre knife fighting. It is a ton of fun, and we work hard.
Remember that skills are always more important than stuff, but you still need stuff. Surplus gear is a solid resource and is quite a bit cheaper.
I wish you all the best as we close out the year and pivot to 2025.
